Scientia Scholarships awarded for study at CSRH

The Centre for Social Research in Health (CSRH) is pleased to announce the awarding of three Scientia PhD Scholarships for postgraduate study under CSRH academic staff, to commence in 2018.

The Scientia PhD Scholarship Scheme is part of UNSW Sydney's dedication to harnessing cutting-edge research to solve complex problems and improve the lives of people in local and global communities. Scientia scholars have a strong commitment to making a difference in the world, with demonstrated potential for contributing to social engagement and/or global impact.

The research areas, scholars and supervisory teams are below.

  • Understanding Personal, Social and Community Effects of Biomedical HIV Prevention - Anthony Smith, supervised by Professor Martin Holt, CSRH, Professor Bridget Haire, The Kirby Institute and Associate Professor Christy Newman, CSRH;
  • Contemporary Approaches to the Engagement of Consumers in Drug Policy - Annie Madden, supervised by Professor Carla Treloar, CSRH, Professor Alison Ritter, Public health and Community Medicine and Dr Kari Lancaster, CSRH;
  • Closing the Gap? Critical Perspectives on Health Policy and Indigenous Self-Determination - Madeline News, supervised by Associate Professor Christy Newman, Dr Diana Perche, Nura Gili and Associate Professor Reuben Bolt, Nura Gili.
