Meet the new professor: Martin Holt

Meet the new professor 2018

The 2018 Meet the New Professor series is a wonderful chance for staff, colleagues and students to celebrate the careers and achievements of our newly promoted professors. Professor Martin Holt in his professorial inaugural lecture, Sex, drugs and HIV prevention, shares his specialist knowledge and provides insights into ‘what’ and ‘who’ has influenced his life and career.

Professor Martin Holt is one of Australia’s leading HIV prevention researchers, working closely with community organisations and governments to improve the health of affected communities.

Prof Martin Holt

"Being able to work with community organisations, governments and researchers to harness communities’ resilience and ingenuity to try to end the HIV epidemic in Australia and overseas has been incredibly inspiring."

Professor Holt is joined by his Arts & Social Sciences colleague, Professor Leanne Dowse, who spoke about the intersection of disability and disadvantage.
